Sunflower Contest

Giant Sunflower Contest

This contest is for youth ages 3 to 16.
Please bring your actual Sunflower Plant to the Buckeye Park on Saturday Morning September 18 at 10:00 a.m.

Every child who brings in a sunflower plant will receive a participation ribbon.

Each Sunflower plant will measured for length (height) and diameter of the seed head. Prizes will be awarded for
Tallest Sunflower Plant and Biggest Sunflower Head.

Winners will be announced at 5:00 p.m. in the Entertainment tent.

*Trophies for Tallest Sunflower Plant and Biggest Sunflower Head.

Due to the hot dry summer, many families are finding that their sunflowers are already ripe and dying. Please save the whole plant from the roots on up and bring it to Buckeye Park. The ONLY criteria for judging is the height of the plant and the diameter of the seed head. The dry plant can be saved in your garage or barn and brought the Festival on the day  of the judging.
